Intake question

I've been researching on which intake system to get and not sure weather to go with the K&N intake or the AF1. I've been hearing some complaints with it and some people love it. Which one is preferred? thanks
Also...kinda off topic
Would you get an Intake or tuner first?

the intake battle has been covered a jillion times, there is no correct answer to which is better. your best bet is to do a search and read all the debates about the different ones

the intake vs tuner thing is debatable too, but youll notice the most difference with the tuner

I personally prefer the AF1. I like how it looks and like how it performs but get the XCal2 first because it’s the #1 bang for the buck mod

I don't care what kind of intake you have, your not going to tell a difference between 2 trucks and 2 styles of intakes in a heads up race. It is probably a difference of about 5-7hp if even that, and that's definitelly not enough feel/see in a race. You would have to have at least 30hp or more to really see one truck pull on the other. But I chose the AF1 simply because it was one of the few that was tested and is not supposed to let the truck run lean and set off check engine lights. The K&N is for "off road" use only according to the manufacturer and can make some trucks run lean due to the design of the tube and the effects on the air going over the MAF. AF1 looks be designed to imitate stock tube design at the air flow meter.
