Upgrading a 2004

I'm looking for ideas. I have an 04 Xlt DSG, and pretty bone stock. The only mods I have are dual exhaust and a new grille. I am going to put the daystar levling kit, wheels, bilsteins and tires on in the spring. What else can I do to make it have an aggressive offroad look. I'm so tired of the 4x4 looking like a 2x4. These 235's Ford puts on just ain't cutting it.

Wheels and tires will make the biggest difference as far as appearance.

it depend on if you like it or not but bushwacker fender flares make it have a agressive look. they also come in handy if the wheels and tires you are going to get are wider and stick past the fender as alot of them do.

Wheels and tires do make the truck, and I plan on having them stick out just a couple inches past the fenders. I would love to get a set of the bushwackers, but time I got them painted it's going to be out of my budget.

Thanks for the imput guys, keep it coming.

The wheels, tires, and leveling kit is going to make the biggest appearance difference but have you thought about getting a bull bar or brush guard?

I have thought about both a brush guard and a bull bar. But, all the brush guards I've seen are either too high priced or just not big enough. I do like the look of the bull bar, but then I would want to put lights on it. I don't know too much about wiring when it comes to those things.

do yuo think that a bullbar without lights would look okay. Also I would have to mount my liscense plate in the middle too.

Low cost:
Kick a couple of dents in the side then get a mullet and a wife beater shirt.

If you can't quite see going down that route, I think a lift, tires and wheels is the first shot. Bull bar or brush guard next. A winch (not a wench) is the clincher.

Do the lift first, then wheels and tires very soon after if not at the same time. You did the right thing and got the Magnaflow on already. If I were to do it all over again, I would of put the Magnaflow on first also.

For the aggressive off road look, get the nobbiest tires you can find, black wheels, cut your fenders to make the bigger tires fit (most mudders and rock crawlers cut their fenders) Then like myst said add some dents scratches, and wuict washing your truck, or maybe do a flat black paint job, and maybe invest in an exo-roll cage.... and for teh real hardcore look, remove the doors...
