Hey All,
Was hoping I could ask someone to help me find out if the reflash applies to my 05? Production date is 05/05. I have been told by my dealer, that there are no messages for my vin#. Not sure what 'exactly' that means, but I took it to mean the reflash didn't apply to my truck. Now before anyone flames me, I've searched upside down & sideways but can't find an answer about whether the reflash applies or has been updated to include units built after 04/05. I have been patiently waiting and searching since July, but no luck yet. Quintin, maybe this is something you could help me with?
please.

There's no way to know for certain whether a later calibration exists for your truck without hooking it up to Ford's WDS or PDS. There may be a TSB out there pertaining to concerns that you have, but that doesn't necessarily mean that there's a later calibration available for it. What problems are you experiencing?
Lag or hesitation from a stop or when turning or rounding a corner and at re-acceleration, step on the gas and "blup" nothing then suddenly she goes. Not all the time but more now then when it was new. Dealer says that's the "drive by wire" and badmouths Ford for using it in our trucks. I tell him no it's not the "drive by wire" because I've felt that too. There is a difference between a delay in the signal getting to the "wire" and the engine bogging down and going "blup". I've got the clunk in the rear also when I start from a stop, again not always and more so now then when it was new (7200 miles now), but because I can't spend 40 mins in the truck, with my dealer's tech, trying to get it to happen. Says he can't help me if he can't experience the condition. Not for anything, I know that Ford and Ford's dealers are aware of these conditions in the new F150's, in fact the rear clunk, from what I've read in these forums goes back many years. Based on their prior knowledge, Dealers should be ready and willing to do whatever they can to correct these conditions in the interest of customer satisfaction. Just because there are no "messages" for my truck doesn't mean that the condition doesn't exist, and given that if they have a fix for current year & immediate previous year well it shouldn't be rocket science to put two and two together. I really appreciate your response, I just wish I knew what to do from here. If it wasn't for these two issues I would have absolutely no other complaints. I really love my truck! And that from a guy that traded in a Tundra 4X4 that he never had any issues with. Quintin, thanks again, don't know if you might have any suggestions on how I might move forward from here but if you do they would certainly be appreciated, Big Time!
