Borla or Magnaflow...Dual Rear or Side Exit?

I am getting ready to buy an exhaust for my truck. I started looking a couple weeks ago and I am more confused than ever. Is there any benefit to the rear dual exit? Is one brand better than the other. Convince me that one choice is better than another. Thanks!

Get a side exit, infront of the back pass tire.. I had the exhaust exiting infront of the back pass tire on my last 2 trucks.. My current truck exits out the back and I'm getting it re-routed to infront of the back tire... Have you looked at the Gibson sport exhaust?

Either way you go with borla or magnaflow its a great choice. I don't really think one could be better than the other so just pick which name you like.

Both are great exhausts, I personally have the Borla. Pick the one you like or can get the best deal on. As far as side exit or dual rear, its a personal preference more than one being better than the other. Choose and install and enjoy!

I kinda like the banks monster kit too. Ive always liked those giant tips on diesel trucks... I think it looks pretty good on the F150 too. Im planning to get one and have the tip powdercoated black. I wish someone made a cat back with a black tip... oh well.

I went with Borla SIDO # 140087 (rear exit) because I didn't want it too loud ... just something I can hear ... and really hear it when I put the pedal down. Plus, the Borla setup is 100% stainless steel ... with a 1,000,000 mile warranty. Others which are NOT stainless may rust out on you in 2-5 years.

I have a soundbite of this setup in my gallery. I've seen some other soundbites (Magnaflow, Flowmaster, etc) on this forum ... but don't have the links for you.

I can't say which is better although I have seen the breakdown of the magnaflow muffler and it has a straight through design that seems like me to offer less resistance to the air flow. no chambers or baffles. the magnaflow is also 100% stainless steel. also I would say if you are worried about sound I would stay away from the exit in front of the rear tire. I have heard you can hear it in the cabin alot easier when it exits there.
