Exclamation Official Billet Grill Breakdown for 2004-6 F-150

Ok guys. I'm about to pull my hair out on this one. I am trying to find a freaking MAIN/UPPER Polsihed billet insert that totally removes the factory honeycomb and tan (on Lariat, or black on other models) plastic surround that is about 1/2 inch thick BEFORE the chrome outer strip.

I thought T-rex made one that way but when I ordered it it came back one that leaves that outermost piece of 1/2 inch wide plastic between the billet and the stock chrome surround.

IS there even such a thing as a grill that totally removes that plastic? If so... can someone PLEASE post a brand, model/part # so I can end this stupid game and get on with it?

I have the Trex lower already installed... a Trex upper that I don't want in hand.

Thanks. (And yes I tried searching but I can not find a definitive answer or close-up picture that totally clears this up)

That's closer... only problem is I need a matching lower one too. Not a huge fan of seeing the support bars behind it either.

What you want is a Carriage Works replacement grille. It totaly replaces the center plastic section. You can get them in black, polished or brushed.

Here is mine in black:

do you have to do any modification to the stock grill or does the carriage works just bolt right in? I dont want to cut up the stock grill.

It depends on which unit you want.

If you get a bolt over then yea it will bolt right in over your existing grill.

The one I have is a total grill replacement unit, which requires taking out the stock grill.
