Alarm/Remote Start installed.... let the mods begin.

I swore up and down that I wouldn't mod out my leased F-150, but I lied. I had an Audiovox remote start installed at work on Friday afternoon, and I am pleased to say that it works great! When I initially leased the truck, I opted out of purchasing the alarm that the dealership where I work wanted to sell me, and just relied on the factory keyless entry.

Now, for the low price of $375, I have an alarm and remote start. This will come in handy this winter time, since I can just leave the heater on when I get out, and when I go to work in the early morning, I can start her right up, and go.

The system is pretty cool. It has lots of auxilary inputs for things like global window down and also for door poppers, which I think I might use when I get a tonneau cover, to pop it open electrically. It also has a function to check the inside temperature of the truck, and an alarm clock built right into the two way remote. The capability is there to automatically start the truck every 2-4 hours, to keep the A/C going should I ever become homeless and be forced to live in my Lariat. I highly recommend this to anyone.

I'd have to check... I didn't actually do the install. The alarm tech at work did it.

Yes, other than the occasional time when I start the truck and immediately after the engine starts, the alarm goes off and kills the motor. The installer has tried all kinds of stuff and he cant get it to quit doing that, so I just live with it. It's certainly better than the horror stories I have heard from some other people.

Do you have to carry two separate key fobs (remotes)? I would freakin' hate that!
