I would stop driving it right now. Park it in the garage so the wind doesnt blow it off either. Call Ford and tell them you fear for your life.

Check your hood bumpers. They may need to be raised a little.Turn them counter-clockwise about 1 turn at a time. Both sides if needed. Also you could check out your hood hinges to make sure they are secured properly.Good Luck!

There is a TSB regarding "hood flutter" at highway speeds. I think the TSB said the flutter was caused by certain types of bug shields. If you do a search you will find the details.

My hood shakes like crazy at hwy. speeds. The service advisor at the dealership said there was a TSB. I just have to take it in and get it fixed.

They will have to adjust the bump stops and/or the latch. That is what I had to do with my 04.

Here is a link to Quintin's post regarding the Hood TSB. Maybe this will help.

Do not worry about the hood flutter. I had the same problem with a after market bug shield. When I took it off it went away. I think it's was do to the high profile design of the bug shield. It would flutter at 65+ or during high winds.

I did find on mine, the longer it went, the worse it got. After a while, it was fluttering even without the bug shield. After I adjusted the latch and bump stops, I haven't had any more problems. I did put the shield back on and still no problem. That was over a year and a half ago.

Try the hood bumpers first, you most likely won't have to touch the latch.I'm not a hood fitter"but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night"

IF, and I hope not, you have to adjust the latch, it is done by loosening the 2 bolts that attache the latch onto the radiator cross member. Just loosen slightly and use a rubber mallet to tap it in the direction you need. Probably up. One thing I found out, is if you do not really tighten the latch bolts real tight, they will loosen.
