Radio Mute on Reverse?
Radio Mute on Reverse?
Does anyone know if there is a way to wire things so that the radio will mute when the truck is put in reverse? This way I would be able to hear my reverse sensors.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I heard/read it was a wiring that was missing. You might want to search for it. I'd be nice to have it turn down but mine doesnt (07/04 Lariat/w audiophile) and it hasnt been worth the trouble to do so.

After search, I gather that pin 20 on the harness is for "reverse aid," but it apparently is no longer connected by ford. WTF?
Anyway, I just need someone to tell me what to connect pin 20 to? Something in the RSS system I assume, but what?

Mine did the same last night when I didn't hear the beeper over the stereo... Luckily, no POS hondas were seriously hurt in the process.
Has anyone been able to make this work? If the radio has the input, and some trucks USED to have it active from the factory, then it should simply be a matter of finding the correct output to connect to the Pin 20 input on the HU. I think...
No help?

i love the reverse sensing system. it works good. when your backing up, the closer you get to the object the faster the beeps get, i know when i'm too close by listening for a certain speed of beeps that i have now learned to listen for. the only downfall i can think of is that when i have my tailgate down when my quad is in the bed, it just beeps like there is something behind me, but it makes sense and is definitely live-with-a-ble.
