Gears?

I have 3.55 gears and i was just wondering if i can change them to 4.10s. I called my dealers service department and they said yes, but will cost me 1200 to 1400 dollars. I read on another post that they fall under warranty. I didnt argue with the guy just said ok thanks. Anyone have any advice please.

I don't see how in the world they would fall under warranty work when there's absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Try getting a set of 18" aluminum wheels installed in place of the 17" chrome clad ones as warranty work and see what they say.

I don't think that this is covered under warranty. If the gears were bad or in need of repair, then yes.

I just had mine done. Changed to 4.10, not done by dealer. 4X2 $630 all together.

Makes a world of difference.

NO, its certainly not covered by warrenty.

If you call Randy ring a pinion 1-800#, then they can locate a reputable dealer nearest to you. I called and the guy I talked to was Extremly helpful. I didnt have the shop he recommended do the install for me, but they did tell me where I could find one.

Transmission places CAN* do it, but usually dont. Call around and ask mechanics. Usually will find someone who knows a installer.
