It's on the window sticker.

If I remember correctly, don't these 2 places only state the month/year of build; and not the exact date?

Just look allover the truck. Mine has a date on the plastic on the carpet...still on after almost 2 years.
It also should have a sticker on the valve cover on the engine with a date.

And in the locations the others mentioned as well.

The door jamb decal only has month/year. The window sticker has it to the day in the lower right hand corner. The sticker on the valve cover shows engine build date, not vehicle build date (at least I think it does).

Wonder what the normal time gap is between the engine build and when it is slapped in the truck.

Just went out and checked mine...2/2/04 engine, 2/9/04 carpet, 2/13/04 release build date. 2/21/04 mine.

I dunno, I imagine they couldn't have engines sitting on pallets for too long though. The engine plant probably gets together with the assembly plant and comes up with a rough guestimate as to how many engines they'll need, and builds that number. I can't remember an engine being no more than about two or three months tops away from vehicle build date.

I have no idea about Ford, but when I took a tour of the BMW factory in Spartenberg, SC they said 40 minutes from when pallet arrives at factory to placement on frame. Of course, the engines come from Germany on boat.

My KR had 7/19/05 on engine....7/25/05 on sticker....8/10/05 in my driveway
