spare tire and jack question?

What are you guys with 35's and larger doing with your jack and spare tire? Are you just removing them? I figure you can't use it so what is reason to keep all that extra weight as well as gaining some storage.

I believe you answered your own question. Just get rid of it and get a AAA card if you dont have one already.

On my old truck I ditched the factory jack and used a 3 ton bottle jack.

IMHO the best thing would be to buy a bigger bottle jack and mount your spare in the bed. I also carry a Hi-Lift jack, but I've got some frame mounted points to lift off of. When I eventually go to a tire that is too large to mount in the stock location, I'll just make a swing out tire carrier and rear bumper. The last time I got a flat, having a AAA membership wouldn't have done a thing to help me out. I guess if you just use your truck on road that might be an option though.
