To the Dealer!!

I took my truck to the dealer this morning to have a few warranty things looked at. Here's what they're checking.

1) Delayed throttle response
2) Occasional rough idle (sometimes I can see the wiper blades shaking)
3) Occasional rough, jolting shifting at low speeds and shudder at take off
4) Drivers’ side rear window makes noise when raised/lowered (sounds like Chewbacca is in the back seat)
5) Air does not seem to blow as cold as it should sometimes
6) At highway speeds the hood shakes a lot (like it's going to fly off)

Anybody else have any of these problems? And what was the fix you got from your dealer?
Once I pick it up this afternoon I'll let everyone know how it went!

I know people have all sorts of problems. I guess my question is more or less how your dealer went about fixing them, if they were able to fix them at all.

All I know is that I took mine in for one or 2 of those plus some more, and it didn't really get completely fixed. For whatever the true reason is, they did not fix the rear end shudder at takeoff, I blame ford for that one. They did not fix my squeeky brakes, they cleaned them and that's it (I'm just under the belief that when you buy a new expensive truck or any other vehicle the brakes should not squeek......imagine that. --just think, what if you bought a mercedes and the brakes squeeked all the time, is that acceptable?) So the brakes still squeek. I'm going to hold onto my survey when I get it and let them know that my truck was not fixed like I asked, it is not my problem that they did not fix it and that now I hold the upper hand. This was recommended by quentin who works for ford.

True that! I'm still waiting for my survey. I'm holding that mother hostage until everything on that truck is fixed to my liking, AND until I get my window sticker. They threw it away and were supposed to mail me one, but I'm STILL WAITING!!! A$$ holes.

[q]4) Drivers’ side rear window makes noise when raised/lowered (sounds like Chewbacca is in the back seat)[/q]

Same exact problem. Dealer ordered a new a new regulator (?) and will let me know when it arrives for installation. Should be a quick fix.

Also have a problem with the front windshield leaking sealant from the top. Ive taken it to them 3 time and thry couldnt figure it out. Finally I just called an auto glass place and they gave me the skinny. Turns out if you use the wrong sealer ,given the heat in S. Fla, it will never set. The contractors at my dealership apparantly dont know this and after several tries still cant figure it out.So guess who im going to see about fixing it correctly.

Good luck with the repairs. Most should be no biggie. Its the stuff not handled by your dealership you should worry about...

Later,

Luis S

Since i bought mine i have had the following done by the service dept.:
1. reflashed computer.
2. New front Rotors
3. Replaced temp sensor.
4. Door panels removed to fix the grease on both windows when rolled down and up.
5. New tail lights (leaking).
6. New clutch packs in rear diff.
7. I did take it in for low idle/stalling but they could not find anything wrong.

I have several friends with F150's and none of them come to this message board and none of them have problems. Sometimes I think that coming here breeds problems. My truck is over a year old and has never been to the dealer...I have to believe that 90% of the F150's problems are coming from the .01% of F150 owners that post here! I wonder if there is a term that means car hypochondriac...

No I am saying I think people think they have problems they really don't have.

Well it's back from the dealer and....
it has to go back Monday

But they did order the regulator for the window, and they did notice that my hood shakes ridiculously, but they needed more time to fix it.
Monday they will check the transmission, and see if they can repeat the rough idle again. They hooked it up to the computer and said the idle looked good and the air was fully charged. Must be the 104 degree cabin temps that negate the efforts of the a/c.
