assuming it has around 20,000 miles, you will be lucky to get offered $23K trade in.

I traded a black 2004 4wd lariat supercrew (audiophile, moonroof, pwr slide rear window, heated cap chairs, etc.) with 4000 miles one year ago exactly, and got 26,200.

Then i had a blue/beige 2004 just like it with 6000 miles that i got rid of in march of this year and got 25,500 for it. That was 6 months ago.

Exactly what I was thinking...around $23K seems right. And even that maybe high if trading on a Prius.

Well, the invoice on my truck was $41000, and the employee price + rebates was $33,500. The private party value is over $30,000 not including the extras on the truck. You can't get a truck like mine for even close to $27000 new. And it only has 13000 miles, not 20000. And like I said, I am considering any offer. I expect to take a loss.

I love the F150 and will get another one, just one that I don't have to make payments on or pay EXPENSIVE full coverage insurance on.

Sucks? I work for a plumbing company here in SoCal and my foreman put that or more on there trucks everyday. 100 miles a day doesn't seem like enough to get rid of a truck. Just my 2 cents.

Really sucks you gotta unload for a job. Hope the job works out. A friend of mine works at a dealer and he says they are doing their best to avoid any 15MPG cars/trucks on trade, in other words, they offer an insulting trade in value. They're scared to be stuck with them. I've also heard of 6 week to a couple month waits on Prius'. One bump in gas and everyone just freaks out I guess. Best of luck, hope you get close to real value for it.

I could lift it and actually take it off road. I would be too scared to take my 04 f150 off road - would want a scratch on it!!
I can certainly understand that but I would still reconsider, I know I put 10 thousand down on my truck and if I were to get rid of it, Id pretty much be just throwing that 10 thousand away. I wouldnt get rid a my truck for nuthin, 10 thousand dollars dont just grow on a tree for me. I knew when I bought it that id better like it cuz im stuck with her. If i want something else then im gonna work for getting something else in addition to, but i wouldnt trade or sell the f150 for nuthin.

that is freekin funny.

hum.....I average a up to 700 to 800 miles a week....Econo box's are not so cheap any more....you can buy a lot of gas for your f-150 for the price of a 15,000 grocery getter...gas here in Calgary is now at a buck a liter...so it should start to go down...my truck is used for work and I have felt the pain of high flue prices as well, my saving grace is my truck is good on gas, I do better on beer ( down time )

Screw the Prius. Why you ask?

1. Hybrids are better in the city.
2. The only reason the P still gets 51mpg's on the highway is it uses a horrid 78 HP 4 banger. Seriously... I make more than 78 friggen HP.
3. It's slower than your truck, if you can believe that.
4. You'll die if you get hit by an F-150.
5. Why not a nice sexy Fusion or other mid-sized sedan that gets great milage?
6. 78 friggen HP.
7. You will die if you get hit by an F-150. I will laugh my **** off when I cream you at an intersection. Hell, I think I ran over a Prius on my way home today.

Good luck on your selling, moving, and *snicker* Prius..

If I don't sell my F150 soon, I guess I'll trade it in. Would be a shame to let them take it so cheap in trade. I would rather hook someone up that wants it!
If you conside just how much more the F350 weighs and the fact that it still gets better gas mileage than the F150, it is getting much better mileage! It's just wasted moving all that extra weight around!

Your going to get reamed at a dealership and Manhiem (so) is the way they normally price cars out kbb is a joke. I can't get 26K at a dealership for a 4x4 lariet with a msrp of 43K and 13000mile so I doubt they are going to give you anything more on a trade for a smaller car, now buying another truck is different.

Plus with for ford pricing and the lot even less paid for your truck, all that lost cash out of pocket buy a ton of gas.

I am in a slightly better place I need to get something bigger (IE F350) for towing and they can't sell the loaded fx4's to save theit lifes right now in california so they give huge money for anything comming in.
