Rollpan for 04-05 F150

Anyone installed a rollpan on an 04-05. Debating between that or a painted rear bumper. Have the factory tow package so I'm a bit concerned I'll lose the hitch or that it will look stupid. Going from factory chrome bumpers to painted w/ fogs in front and painted bumper (or rollpan) in rear.

Just received mine in FedEx today. It should be painted and installed by next weekend. I also went from the chrome in the front to the painted. I will be getting rid of the hitch also.

had to lose the factory hitch as well. kind of a shame it looks good, but there is absolutely nothing to keep it still other than the screws that hold the top and sides to the bed. so it kinda flops around... im going to have to fab up some brackets to make it less wobbly. the price to pay for looks eh?

if you are going to get a painted stock front bumper, then u may just want to the same for the back. it will be an improvent in appearance, be much stronger, and will let u keep your hitch

Thanks guys. I was afraid I would lose the hitch. I think I'm leaning towards the painted back bumper..... wouldn't mind losing a little weight back there but I still want to be able to tow. Has either of you found a hitch that's hidden behind the rollpan?? I know i've seen some in the past that utilize the license plate (on hinges) to hide the hitch.

Good news is that I found a front bumper (pained black) for $58 on ebay that has the holes for the foglights. Thought that was a pretty sweet deal.

With the SS roll pan you can get the hidden hitch but you will loose the spare.

Fitted mine today:

Fitted mine today also. I went with the DG Motorsports pan. It is not quite as tall as the SS.

If I had a 2WD Reg Cab it'd look just like yours, you've done an amazing job!

I think this will be one of my next mods. I HAVE to keep the hitch though.. maybe the hidden hitch is the way to go.. kinda pricey though.

I agree with Thump, smokin. By the way, you should have wrote up a tutorial on how you did your racing stripes up the middle. I'm thinking of doing that as well. Alright not really but who knows, I've never seen it on a lifted truck and when I photoshopped my sig I liked how it turned out.

I'd really like to get one soon, but with...

$200 for the roll pan
$200 for the hitch
$$$ for paint... shoo wee!
