rim help

im planning to lifting my truck from jd fabrication and im looking for rims.I gonna run 37x12.50r17.I want a 17x8 rim...my issue is with backspacing.I thought i heard that we cant go more then 5 inchs on BS,This is gonna be a long travel front end.So really dont want rims that stick out really ghetto.or add more strees.Would 4.5 backspacing be good or just like 4 or so.Teach me about back spacing, pros.
or ideas on rims

id say 4.5 will be good especially if your going 37s. You dont want them to be jammed in your wheel well especially if you have 37s. 4.5in of backspacing is definitly not ghetto. 4.5in of backspacing and 37s on 20s is what im eventually gonna get. it will look good. heres a website that describes backspacing and offset and all that. http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/rt_specs.jsp

A lot of aftermarket 17's won't clear the brakes on 05's. You might want to go with 18's.

I bought 20" rims with 4.5" backspacing because I plan to go with bigger tires after I do the 6" Fabtech lift. I don't want to have to buy wheels again.

really.17's wont clear the 2005's brakes. So 17x8 wont fit.I just dont really wanna run 20's on a truck thats gonna hit the dirt. With fiberglass fenders on it would clear the wheel well.
The truck with the kit i want has 17x8 walker evens bead locks on stock brakes.I guess i will just have to find some 17;s that will fit me. any other ideas on rims?just like some eagles that are nice.

I wish I would of realized I was going to lift it before I bought my wheels. Im kicking myself in the *** for it to this day. I love my wheels, I just wish they had 5" of backspacing.

ThumperMX113, I can not find any specs any where on the backspaceing on helo wheels. I am assuming those are 18's you got. what is the backspaceing on those. I heard it was 5.5 inch. also usually rims are rated for so many pounds weight capacity what are those rated. and I have seen alot of rims rated at less than 2200 pounds say no larger than 33 inch tires. just curious as I am considering those rims but want to see what there specs are. thanks
