G.A.P grille

Only a matter of time that this forum is gonna me a small fortune. Looks like this hasn't been brought up in awhile and I'm sorta new. First off is there anywhere to get these things cheaper than $56? That's a bit much in my opinion. I'm 6'7" so I could really care less about Ford's idea of a step to get at the engine. Plus what do people do with plates up front, remove the plate to step up? I'm not into billet grilles at all, no offense to those with them, but that's not an option for me. I can see payin $20-$30 for one, but almost $60 for something Ford dropped the ball on seems crazy.

Well, when you own the trademark and are the only company allowed to make it (for now), you kind of have the market cornered and can charge what you want. So, you'll only find that $50-60 price online, at dealerships, and on ebay.

http://www.abbetteffects.com

This may be one option at saving a few bucks:

GordoPanocho,

The link to the group buy on www.fordf150.net is bad now. The group buy turned into an argument over who could get the best price and it got deleted.

Amazes me how assy some people can be. If you don't think it's a good deal, go elsewhere. That post was a bit humorous though. I'm going to hold out a bit on the insert. Maybe once demand settles down a bit, the price will also. I've got other mods I'd like to take of in the meantime. If the gap becomes a $50 nusisance to me, then I'll order it.

Remember too that the '06 does not need this piece so their demand continuing with the same model of truck just ended (same model but different front bumper). So the price could drop considering the '06s release.

I bought mine at a local dealership for 45.00....expensive but I wanted it.

Well you can always wait till the patent is up. When K&N's ran out, Fram immeadeatly released the Air Hog filter, I pulled both the K&N and Fram out of their respective boxes while at the auto parts store, the only difference i could see was Fram was $ 10.00 less.

Im jsut glad that I didn't get in on the group buy on fordf150.net. All those people were getting screwed by the guy running it. How did it end so abruptly?
