just ordered Firestone air bags

Just ordered a set of firestone air bags for my Screw. I have been wanting these for a while now. Best price I have found by far is summit - www.summitracing.com .... $208 plus handling charge for a total of $218 to the door. Cant wait to install them this weekend. No more headlights in the sky!!!

Sweet. Can't wait to hear how the install went... and the pics. So that price is the bags, compressor, and remote? I assume that's manual and not the automatic level stuff...

Mine are the Firestone Ride-Rite model #2350. They fit the rear of 2 wheel or wheel drive 04' or newer F-150's. Check out the link, it has a pdf file of the application. It's a basic kit that comes with all mounting hardware, plastic tubing and fittings for manually adjusting.

Had them on my 04 shortbed scab and then moved them over to my 05 longbed scab. Only problem is the 05 has the 7 lug axles and the holes for the ubolt would not line up. A little drilling fixed that. They went in in about an hour and a half. I put the valves in next to the liscense plate. They really stiffen up the ride.

I got mine from Summit about a week ago (back orderd for the last month!) for the 4 x 2 and I just ran into a HUGE road block yesterday ... was trying to custom mount mine (5" drop in the rear fo my lowered truck) and now I'm not sure if it is even possible !!! Thought I could custom fab a bracket but it is soooo close from the top of the axle to the frame that I don't see how it can be done.

ANYONE with their truck dropped have ANY pictures or advice ??? This one is going to be tough !!!
THANKS

I'll get some pics of the airbags this weekend when I have the wheels off and post em', besides its full of mud right now.

Hey, Purpony, thats a sweet stang you have there. Just curious how well it hooks on the street with that kinda power, I am workin on a 408 combo that should put down about the same numbers.

Not sure if that comment was directed at me ?? If so, why not ? Think the ride would be too stiff ?? I really HAVE to do something in the back to keep the back end from dropping when I'm hauling three motorcycles to the desert OR when I'm towing a trailer. You don't even want to see how big a trailer I plan on towing !!!!! Don't know of any other logical solution to keeping the back end level for towing or hauling ?

Thanks!! The car is a blast to drive but doesnt hook up great. I have a set of 11" wide nitto drag radials under it. Sometimes I can get a decent launch and other times the smoke just pours out. The twin turbos make great power at low boost. I was planning on building a 408 with a Novi on my 93 LX but the project got pushed way back. Dont know if it will ever happen. I am however thinking of selling my car and buying an 04 Cobra....

As for the AirBags... they came UPS tonight. They look great but I am extremely picking when it comes to stuff and the coating on the brackets is just not up to my liking so I stripped the brackets tonight and will be powdercoated tomorrow night. My Air Compressor should be here friday so thats when ill install the entire package.

nvrenuff-- Do you have an on board compressor? if so which one and how does it work?
