Thumbs up Ceramic brake pads

After reading about all the ceramics brake pad threads on here, I figured I'd straighten things out.

One of the first mods I did to my truck was replace the stock, brakedust producing pads with some ceramic ones.

I ordered Akebono PROact pads... from tirerack . com. Pretty cheap too. $70

I only replaced the front.

Ive had them on for about 20k miles now and they're great.

ZERO dust, ZERO squeak/squeal, OEM-like stopping power, maybe slightly better.

The rear wheels get more brake dust on them now than the front do!

Great product. For all those thinking of switching to ceramic pads, Akebono is the way to go.

As a new 05 owner this is on the list to do. Nearly 45 minutes to clean the front wheels every week x 52 weeks = $70 is a frickin bargain. Unless someone wants to volunteer to clean my wheels for $70 a year.

I purchased the Satisfied Pro Ceramics model #1011c from Kragen's auto parts for $50 with no brake dust, or squeal. The only noise I have to take care of now is the serpentine belt squeak at WOT when the tranny shifts.

ive got Morse Ceramics from Autozone, switched them in place of carbon metallics i had in before. the ceramics bite a lot better than the metallics, and better than the stock pads too, i was really suprised, i thought ceramic pads offered LESS braking power, but i was wrong! no dust, no noise, im a happy camper! ill only use ceramics from now on
