'04 Super Crew Owners...Quick Favor

Could one or two of you guys who own an '04 Super Crew please go outside and tell me exactly what buttons light up on each of your door arm rests when the headlights are on? One on my driver's side is out and when I take it in, I want to make sure there aren't more. I can't remember what lit up and what didn't.

For example my mirror positioner isn't lit. But it may never have been. And on my passenger door, only the lock button is lit. Nothing is lit in the back.

Thanks

Make sure the window lock is not on, if it is on the window switches other than the driver will not be lit. I don't think the mirror control is supposed to light.

Mine had all the windows, and locks. Not the mirror or window lock. All the passenger doors are lit up, even the back.

One my dads truck. his has all the windows, except the drivers window up. he has the locks too. Not the mirror or window lock. All the other doors are lit.

Here is my dads door.

Interesting. I never noticed that about the window lock. That was it. Maybe I don't have one out then. The only one not lit is driver's side window up. Is everyone's window up not lit, with the driver's down very dim? Why wouldn't they light the up one?

I noticed mine awhile back wasn't working. Then it started working again after I tapped on it. That door window lock is kind of neat. Who would figure they would ad that option.

Mirror positioner does not light up Every thing else should lite up If you have your switch on that does not allow the power windows to roll down The passanger, and rear window buttons will not light up Read your book that came with your truck

So then the driver's side window up should be lit. Correct?

Thanks. Guess I now have to go back to the dealer for a little warranty work.

Another question: In order to get to the innards of the buttons on the arm rest, do they have to remove the whole arm rest or is that just a plate surrounding them that they just pop off? I hate it when my vehicle gets dismantled in any way.

^That switch plate just pops right off. You should remove the speaker grille first though.

Failure of the light in the drivers switch is very very common. I have heard about it a dozen times or more. Must have been a bad batch of switches.
