Yet another tire question

I need to keep my stock 18in wheels on my truck due to my finances. Will the 35x12.5r18 Toyo M/T's fit with a 2.5in front leveling kit? Or, will they be to wide for that rim? Also, with a 2.5in front kit, will my tuck be level or is that too much and it will make my front sit higher?

I have been searching the forum for days and I cant find answers to either question. I could just be searching wrong, who knows.

Hey man. I've got the BFG Mud terrains on my stock 18" lariat wheels. They fit just fine. There are guys that will tell you that those tires aren't made for that narrow of a wheel. But I think they fit fine!

Also, I put the autospring 2.5" front leveling lift kit on the front of mine. I fit the 35"s fine and it is completely level. The only thing is that if you turn your steering to full lock (where your power steering whines) you may rub a little bit. You shouldn't be locking your steering anyways!

So I hope that helps. I've got several pictures of my truck before and after and during the install of the lift. Check that out and let me know if you have any more questions!

Thought of two questions: How bad did it throw off your speedometer? How much does it make you truck vibrate?

Thanks for the help. I called on the Toyo's and they are on 60 day back order anyway. I will look into the bfg's

1) The speedo is off around 10%. You can get a reprogrammer to fix that. I hope to when I get the $$$.

2) The ride is still awesome and smooth. The tires don't make much noise with as quite as our interiors are. I can't hardly tell a difference in the ride.

3) Yes, I only have the 2.5" lift in the front.

Any others questions?

Yeah, last one I promise. Did you need a camber kit after you lifted the front? I looked at mine and it looks like I might have that leveling kit in there already. I looked at your pics and looking at my truck I think there is a rubber spacer sitting on top of the coil spring. There is about 1in of rubber between the top of the spring and the bottom of the metal that it slides into. I bought the truck with 15k on it so the previous owner might have done that. Another reason I think those are in there is because my tires are wearing faster on the outside than they are on the inside to the point that I have to buy new front tires.

I was wondering why everyone was complaining about thier truck not sitting flat, I never noticed it on mine and thats probably why.

Have you measured your truck's fender wells on level pavement. That is the best way to tell if your truck is level. Sometime it can look level until you see a truely level truck! Also, the lift level spacer is not rubber. The autospring is steel. All trucks should have a rubber gromet in there to reduce squeaking. Here are some pictures to help determine if you already have the spacer in your truck.

This is the strut with the spacer on top (right of pic).

This is me pointing to the spacer with it installed.

Here is the spacer installed again.

This is the strut installed without the spacer.

With the wheel and tire on it's going to be hard to see if it is in there or not. but if you take the wheel off, you should be able to see if it is in there or not.

It definetly has the lift on it. Im going to the dealership to try to get the tires replaced then. They should have told me the truck was lifted and someone had to of noticed during the "rigorous" 150pt inspection. I told them about the tire wear and they said the steering was out of alignment and I was SOL but the wheel doesn't pull at all and they are wearing the exact same on both sides. I gave up and told myself it was just toed in a little and thats what was causing it. I hope they replace them, with only 21k on the truck I wasn't expecting to buy tires yet.

Thank you for you help with this. I appreciate it.

The rubber gromet sits just like yours and I can feel the spacer up inside. I can feel where the spacer and the rubber meet and then you can feel the metal block.

You may want to invest in the camber kit. I will try to post some pics of what my tires look like when I get home.

How much does the dealer charge for the camber kit and is it difficult to install? I had my truck aligned after installing my 2.5" Autospring, and the tow was all messed up. They had no problem with fixing the tow and told me that the camer was a little negative but not worth worrying about.
