Fender Bender. need parts

I got in a little finder bender last night on the way home (no one was hurt). I had almost stopped in time..... but no, tapped the car in front of me. The damage on my truck is:
-bent license plate
-tweaked the metal front bumper

The part that I want to fix is the metal bumper. Its the lowest part of the bumper that the tow hooks stick through. One autobody guy told me that becuase its metal I would be happier replacing it than trying to striaghten it. Anyone have experince in that? If I choose to replace does anyone know the approx cost of the part? Does anyone here sell parts?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You'll have to replace the metal bumper. Most body shops won't repair those. Check out Ebay for cheap ones, I've seen them pop up quite often.

I think you will be stuck with replacing the bumper as Bradster stated. It may even be illegal for anyone to repair as the bumpers are required to be able to withstand a 5mph crash. This cannot be guarenteed with a repaired bumper.

i just got a quote from a local autobody shop. The part is $377. All painted and installed will be $681.

I just took me $681 to learn to look at the road more often than the iPod. It could have been much worse (I am so glad no one got hurt!) ... lesson learned.
