Any Experts Out there? Womp, Womp, Womp driveline issue

Alright my 05 (Built in December 04, purchased new last month) makes a womp, womp, womp sensation/sound/vibration at 40-45 and again between 55-63. I am not a mechanic, but I am an engineer. The sound/feeling is very distinct with a foot on the gas, but if you listen close it is there even in neutral coasting down through those speeds. It seems to be happening at the same frequency even at the different speeds.

Ford has already replaced tires (twice), driveshaft, transmission mounts, body mounts, tomorrow is the torque converter (which doesn't make sense to me), none of which (unless torque converter works) have fixed the problem.

To me, it sounds rotational. From what I know about automatic transmissions and drivelines, the only part in a vehicle that could rotate at the same rotational speed at different vehicle speeds is the gearing in an automatic transmission. But do the gears in an auto-tranny even spin when in neutral???

Any transmission guys have any thoughts on this??? Any experts out there???

Right now I do not believe that the dealership will be able to locate the problem, they seem to be following some "Ford Procedure" but that procedure seems to be grasping at straws. PLEASE HELP!!!

This procedure is actually as follows:

Ford Dealer Panic Procedure 3483216

Give customer the run around until they get fed up and either

A) Live with problem.
B) Take the truck to another dealer.
C) Trade the truck.

If all options do not work please tell customer that its simply a characteristic of this model and theres no problem.

rear axle assy. thats what finally fixed my vibe after all the same things you said they have tried, a ford engineer came and looked at mine and ordered the entire unit be replaced, rite down to the brake pads. Good as new now! This was at 3000 miles, now over 16,000 and still good!

I'm grasping at straws here also..
Did they try replacing the wheels?
Is it worse when you slightly apply the parking brake during driving? Could it be a brake issue?

Thanks for the responses.

I actually tried the parking brake and it doesn't get any worse or better... still present at about the same magnitude, plus the wheels and brakes are not hot, even after driving quite some distance. Plus, braking is smooth as can be.

Maybe it is the rear axle assembly, but I will have to wait to see if that is the next "step in the procedure," I guess. Jimmy, was yours similar to what I have described? I think I might suggest it to them, but I dunno.

Anyone else have any suggestions? Is what I describe also what is commonly considered "the vibe?"

thanks all!!!
