Will this even work

I know that there has been TONS of posts about upgrading to a flow-through console, but I can't find an answer to if it is possible to make the floor shifter work or not. If there is, this might not be such a bad buy.

Go for it if your up to the challenge. That ad is still missing a few items. Also, the dash assembly is proprietary to an F150 that came stock with the flow-thru. Not sure if a non flow-thru console dash will work especially without the extra supporting structure. Another issue is the shift linkage to the transmission and associated electrical connections and such, not to mention taking apart your steering column to allow the disabling of your steering column shifter. I'm sure I'm missing other items as well, but good luck!

That sounds like an awful lot of work, and its a little pricey for something that I don't know if it will work or not. How about we take up a collection, you all could buy the console for me, and I tell you all if it works.

Sure,, where do I send my money
I to thought about it, but it would be way to much work... You can always get one of the $45 flow through consoles on ebay and modify to fit without the shifter

yeah, but everyone is doing that now. Thats no fun. I think I'd rather start hacking away on my truck not knowing what in the world I'm doing or knowing how it would turn out. At least it will give me something to do in my free time for the next few months.......

I am not that familiar with the different versions of the Ford transmissions, but there are a lot of after market shifters available for what are listed as AOD transmissions; I do not know if this would include the 4r75.

The B&M Bandit appears to be narrow enough to fit under a flow through console and has a nice aluminum pistol grip. Working out the brake pedal interlock could be an issue, but it may be worthwhile for someone with a sense of adventure.

There is no advantage to the floor shifter that would make it worth all that trouble... in my opinion..

I agree with that, I just think they look cool, but it is going to be WAY too much work. And then I would have to buy all of the stuff for it.....and then pay someone to fix what I mess up in the process........but it was fun dreaming about it for a day.
