I know this has been discussed, BUT, is anyone still experiencing "ticking" cam phasers? Even after replacing original one? I am on my third one now and still ticking, not like a Timex! My dealer service dept. tells me that it will not harm the motor and they will contact Ford AGAIN to see what is going on. I wonder if it is even the cam phaser?

 

there is a ticking sound that is normal to 3v 5.4. from what I have heard it is the fuel injectors ticking maks it sound almost like a diesel only quieter. maybe that is what you are hearing. from what I have heard it is normal.

 

I asked my dealer the same thing and they said it was the injectors.
