Question ATTN: Caimakale, need a bit of help, swapping clusters

Caimakale:

got my Lariat cluster and the message center switch, however I am having a hard time following your instructions posted here:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...6&page=1&pp=15

I cant seem to find the correct pins that go from the switch to the cluster; or is it to the wire harness that goes into the cluster? And if so, on which end of the cluster, since there are two connectors on the top of it.

Can you please send me an email with the instructions you mentioned in your post?

If anyone else has done this swap, your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

If you are looking straight at your cluster with it still in place but the harnesses visible, the two pins go in the harness on the right...(right above the temperature guage on the lariat cluster)

I did find out the pins with the pigtail were sold to my dealer by a local supplier. But they did say that shops everywhere should have some sort of inventory of pins with pigtails, so it's just a matter of finding the right one that fits at your local dealership. If one acts like they don't know what you are talking about, then try a different one. Just be sure they know you need a pin w/ a pigtail of wire that clips into an existing wiring harness. Somebody on one of the other threads actually posted the wire harness part number that hooks into the back of the message center switch.

I should have taken pics during my install, but I was too impatient and unsure if it would even work. So I just hurried up and did it.

Specifically, what areas are you stuck??? Is it just the pins, or is there something else that I need to clarify.

Let me know, I would rather do it in here. That way if somebody has the same question in the future, at least it's here for them.

Thanks, I'll try it again later today when I get home. I wasnt sure what side of the cluster was were I was supposed to wire the 3-button controller thingy.

Appreciate the help!
