I feel your pain

I bought an 04 Scab and ended up hating the thing. 4 months later in Feb of 05 I traded it in on an 05 Screw. I take a lot of clients out to lunch and dinner in Atlanta and access to and from the rear seat area via those suicide doors was a royal pain in the rear when parked in a parking space with cars on either side of you. This is always the case when dining in Buckhead!

I was able to get out from under my 04 Scab without too much in the loss column, but this was way before all this employee price discount program stuff flooded the market with a ton of used cars. You will probably choke when you hear what they will be willing to give you for your Scab. Best of luck to you.

scab vs screw

I bought the scab for the bed length. Truck bed was more important than passenger comfort in the back seat since my back seat is usually used for two labs......you will get slaughtered on your trade.

If you do not regularly place people in the back seat keep the scab....they look better are make more sense for a truck. As everyone has said...depends on how you use your truck.

I had a screw before my current scab. I like the room and the looks on the previous body style on the screw but to me the current one looks funny. The front doors are to small.

I am still young and single so its scab for me.

Exactly. I rarely carry anyone in the back seat, and when I do it's either kids or a pretty short ride. The front door being an extra 6" long makes it much easier to get in and out of.

Funny thing is I actually think the complete opposite.

I personally love my Scab, and I ALSO work in downtown Atlanta(Peachtree St) and frequently carry coworkers in the back. They have given nothing but compliments. I like it because its sleek, compact and has the functionality of four doors. Heres a shock too, I have a 5.5ft bed. The truck is very easy to drive around small downtown roads and parking lots. Im single, young and dont need a four door just yet, maybe when I get old and grey I might get a Screw/minivan. Hell it was hard enough to switch from a standard cab, and I think the Scab is a nice medium. I mean its all what you use the truck for, you really cant ask someone else because its your truck and you know what you use it for.

Thank you everyone for all your comments and suggestions. I know the decision is ultimately mine, but I do appreciate the comments and suggestions you guys all had. I have decided to keep the Scab. Like you all said, it's not worth taking the loss on a trade-in, and by the way, loved the comment about "not having enough vaseline" (hahaha). Okay, thanks again for your help.

To me there is no noticable BIG difference between the two cabs, but anyways, here are the specs from Fordmotorcompany.com. Interior Dimensions (Supercab-Screw) Head room-front/rear (in) 40.9/39.6-40.1/39.6, Shoulder room- front/rear (in) 66.5/66.7-65.8/65.8, hip room- front/rear (in) 65.8/66.5-63.8/63.1, leg room- front/rear (in) 41.3/32.7-41.3/39.0.

Two points to make here
1. It amazes me how many people make a purchase this big and don't really know what they want and look to get rid of it in a short amount of time.
2. To the people that just blurt out 'get the S'crew', you did see he's only had his truck for 2 months. You have to have money to burn to turn around and trade in that soon.

My opinion is that I like the look of the SCab better. And even if there is a little more room in the SCrew, I don't ride in the back seat, so it doesn't matter.

I will admit that the Scab has enough room in the backseat for most people. I just don't like the looks of it. We have one right now as a rental and it just doesn't tickle my fancy like the Screw does.

I have the SCAB with the 5.5 bed. Choose what works best given your form vs function preferences. Form: To me, the SCAB looks better than the SCREW, but opinions vary so why argue. Kind of like debating which color is the best. Function: My SCAB fits in my garage with room to spare in front and behind. Plus, it’s easier to drive and park than a longer truck. The only person regularly riding in the rear seat is my 3 year old and she has plenty of room. The adults who have been back there haven’t complained and are generally impressed with the amount of space. Ultimately, you have to decide what works for you rather than what everybody else is doing. Good Luck!

You made the right choice sticking with the scab striclty for monetary reasons. The 06 Screws will have a 6.5' bed so wait for a year or two then trade...wont hurt as bad...
