What about the fact that those with the OEM hitch have to get teh pipes welded on as Magnaflow's hangers are designed to go where the hitch bolts go? From what I read here, that irritated some folks. Has that been addressed? I'm going Borla, I think
yes that was an issue with my truck. I would think magna flow would have fixed the issue by now. I still managed to hang my exaust it is just hanging awkwardly. I seen picks of people with oem hitches that do not have the extra braces that go back and mount where the magnaflow was suposed to mount. I think it is only a issue with with Fx4 hitches but I am not sure on that. as far as the clamps they are ok but don'g try to tighten them as much as the directions say or you will break a bolt or strip it. I did it on 2. then I looked up the touque for the bolts in the clamps and it was no where neer what they said to tighten it too. also magnaflow will not sell the clamps seperately from the kits so if you breack one like I did you are up a creek. I went to several exhaust shopes locally and couldn't find any band clamps like the ones on the kit so I ended up buying sone regular grade 8 bolts from the hardware store that just worked fine. I was disipointed in magnaflow for not selling the clamps seperately especially sence it was there faulty directions that lead to the bolts breaking in the first place. the front 3 " clamps handled the 60 # of tourque the directions called for but the rear 2.5 inch clamps will strip out at about 50 #'s of torque. I recomend just tightening them to 45 #'s of torque.
once I got it all mounted and hanging I am vary happy with the sound and performance. and it is all stainless steel which is good. I am not sure the borla is. I know when I was looking arround alot of these exhausts were not stainless steel.
over all I think it is a great system if magnaflow has worked the bugs out of it. I don't know if they have though.

Clamps

Seem's like good suff so far on mine, SISO on 05 scab, really easy to install by yourself, did mine in 2 hours. Only problem the clamps could be better, could'nt get the clamp for the tail pipe to tighten good, going for a different or I may weld on the tail pipe.

As far as quality, I have no complaints. I hated the clamps, they just wouldnt stay tight; or if they were tight, the pipes would still come out, so I dropped the pipes and just welded them.
The dealer I ordered from said the kit they sent me for my build date would work, but the hangers didnt. It wasnt Maganflow's fault, just an innocent mistake by the dealer that they offered to pay to fix.
Im happy with my Magnaflow. It is everything I wanted.

Going to agree with people's here. Kit is great, finish etc is awesome. The clamps leave a lot to be desired.

my clamps didnt strip, but it was very hard to get it to tighten on the pipes. i found that if you move the clamp all the way to the edge of the slotted pipe it holds a lot better
