ABS light on?

My ABS light came on a few times now, it clears for awhile when the key is cycled. Crawled underneath and checked for obvious cable damage and such, nothing. I use the truck for work everyday so its not easy to run it to the dealer unless its serious enough to have to take a day off from work. Anyone else have the ABS light, what was the fix and how long did it take? Anything else I can check in the meantime?

I tried my Predator which should show codes too, but it doesn't show anything to do with the ABS light. I guess it will only show codes associated with the check engine light only.

You need a different scan tool to read and clear ABS codes. This is a separate system within the PCM. The best bet is to get a proper tool similar to the ones the shops use, the power programmers like Hypertech and Xcal don't read these codes.

BTW a damaged parking brake cable won't set a code.

Try fiddling with your parking brake; make sure when it’s released it’s all the way up

To be honest I have never used the park brake, but I'll check it out.

Do you have a leveling kit?

Mine came on a week or so after I had my leveling kit installed. The sensor behind the rotor on the the driver side wasn't tight so I pulled it out, cleaned it with some WD-40 and tightened back up. No more ABS light!
