According to Mike Troyer....he recomends NO reflash as his "Custom" tuning addresses all the issues mentioned. If you do go with the reflash and plan on adding an Xcal in the future you got to have the Code number for the reflash....it is a MUST HAVE. No you can't reflash a vehicle currently running an Xcal.....first it would erase the tuning installed and you would need the xcal reflashed for a new tune and that equals $$$.

Is that a shot of downtown Tampa? I just got mine done recently and it seems to have worked for a while and is not back to intermittantly doing the same thing. It is odd...they also told me lots of cars and some trucks are coming back with clogged cats because of bad gass and it is not covered by warranty...ever think of starting a local truck club for f150's in Tampa?...I know that is not the subject sorry.

Yes, I have thought about it actually.. tons of F150's in Tampa; and yes - that is downtown Tampa in the background. Channelside parking garage..

EDIT: Clogged cats not part of warranty? Must be "wear and tear"?

Cool, here is my e-mail keep me posted if you do focusosales@hotmail.com.....one last question, Spiro...you wouldn't happen to be Greek? I ask because I am as well.

Yeah the cat thing threw me off because he said it was on cars that were pretty much new...my truck was acting up a bit again today may have to ask for another flash but if it is not acting up that day they won;t do a thing.

The reflash is good but the superchips tuner is way better. Had mine for 6000 km now and would not go back.

I got mine reflashed back in April do to some bad idling....this reflash did not really make much of a difference in my truck....it is still sluggish off the line...but hey...the think is damn near 6000 lbs...so I do not expect much....anyway, I plan to purchase the xcal2 sometime in the near future (unless something better comes out before then)....

Have I missed something on the breakin on mine? I didn't see anything about an early oil change interval. I was planning on having mine done at 3000 just like normal. I did notice last night that the manual said 5k under normal driving conditions.... don't think I'll be waiting that long.

I tried to get mine done at the dealer at 1600 miles, the service manager said I would be wasting my money. He said get the first one at 3000 to 3500 miles. he also said, due to the driving conditions around here, he would always change his at 3000 to 3500 instead of the 5000. I was doing that till the last one and I went 4000. The oil darkened considerably, so I am going back to 3500 miles between changes.

Reflashed (I think)

Brought my truck ('05 Lariat SuperCrew) to the dealership to try and get the PCM reflashed. Good thing, too, as they found a couple other problems. They didn't mention that they reflashed the PCM but, lo and behold, there was a sticker on the radiator cowl with the following code: 5L3A-12A650-CNB. Anyone recognize this? If this the code for the new settings?

Not to get off track but with that Supechip reflash do you have to do premium gas? My dealership has recently been a pain about reflashing it or revisiting the hesitation I am having. They only have technicians from 10am to 4pm well of course because I work all day and they say bring it by when it is acting up.,..that is afer 4pm at least...still can't check it out...this is getting frustrating with a $37K truck. May jsut use the superchip reflash.

Yep you got flashed. 12A650 is the base part number for the PCM.

Have an 05 Lariat SCREW, build 01/05, reflash fixed my rough 1-2 upshift problem but I still have a very slight hesitation during easy acceleration. The truck definately performs better, holds a gear longer and will actually spin the stock tires off the line. Brother has an 05 screw, FX4 , build 12/04 and had same shift problem, reflash fixed his and his comment when he pulled out of the dealer after picking up the truck was "holy crap, there should be a recall for this, my truck runs great !"

There are different latest reflash codes, depending on your PCM 'catch word', written on the PCM. Ours was TEM7 and TEM6 and was the same update. Others have posted different update codes.

I am also looking to add the xcal2 to my performance add on list. ( did borla catback SIDO in June, just received the Airaid CAI from Troyer and will install this weekend, so next is the xcal2 93 octane super tune )
