Is the exhaust smaller on the 05's?

I was walking the parking ramp today after work and saw a new F-150. The tail pipe seemed awfully small. Thought at first that it might be a V6 but looked on the badge and it was a 5.4. My exhaust on my 04 4.6 is 2 3/4 and the diameter on this 5.4 was smaller. Any ideas if there was a change?

Thanks
Jason

I noticed that too when I was at the dealer getting my truck serviced a few weeks ago.

Even comparing 2 05 lariats with 5.4s one looked smaller. I kept looking at different 05s and some looked smaller than others.

Thanks,

Good to know that I'm not seeing things.. Wondering why the change? Figured with 300 horses they would need a larger pipe than on my 4.6.

From: Georgia on my mind...
It is a little. I stol...er, acquired the chrome tailpipe off an '06 Mark LT and tried fitting it on my '04, the pipe on mine is just a hair bigger in diameter. On the LT, it slips off with no effort, my F150 I'll have to waller the exhaust tip out somehow or another.
