So whats this crap I hear about the Helo Maxx 6s not fitting on 2005s? Are we talking about a 18x9 or a 17" wheel. I sure hope that were talking about the 17" wheel. Im screwed if the 18s won't fit. Can someone PLEASE shed some light on this issue for my a.s.a.p!?

 

Hey thump, I'm pretty sure their talking about the 17 inch. I have been researching this as well. I have an 04 built in may 04, and I am trying to see if the 17's will fit mine. Haven't got an answer yet. Anyways I guess that in the new 05's, Ford made the brake calipers bigger and some 17 in aftermarket wheels will not fit.

Im not sure. Im dropping mine off at the dealer I purchased from tomorrow and meeting with the owner of the dealer. If I remember correctly he said he was going to try to get it fixed within a week and if not they're going to just give me my money back or give me a new truck.

As far as I know the only issue with wheels was with the 17" Centerline CROSSFIRE wheel. Nobody has ever posted in this forum that any other wheel was a problem. The larger calipers after 1/05 seems to be a fact. Whether a certain wheel will fiit or not seems to be mostly conjecture. The CROSSFIRE may not even be an issue anymore since Centerline discovered the issue...

 

ackackadak - I know Centerline had an issue, but now many wheels have a remarks on them to check for clearance in the wheel barrel. Discount Tires has a note when you just put in an 05 Ford F150. Best advice for new whell buyers -- try them before you buy them. For Thumper.....I hope yours work, it gives me more options.
