What a Difference?
Went out to the deer lease on Saturday. I towed an 18 ft 1000lb+ trailer with 2500 lbs of corn for the feeders and all the hunting geer(3 bows w/cases, 2 rifles w/cases, ladder, ice chest full of beer/cokes, 5 passengers, etc-hog hunting) for about 100 miles through hilly terrain. I was totally impressed with the towing capacity/power of this rig. I towed this same setup with the 03 F150 FX4 before buying the 04 F150 FX4. On this trip, she only down shifted to 3rd twice up the slopes. On one occassion, I passed an 18 wheeler up a hill going 70mph. I moved to the oncoming lane and hammered it. It down shifted and see ya. The truck didn't hesitate and went up to about 90mph without a problem. Needless to say, my passengers were in awe. They had ridden with me in the 03 before. Can't imagine what she'll be able to do with the upgrades I have planned.

You know the real pure white sand piles at construction sites? Well he tried to climb one, he get pretty far but he couldn't get back down. We hooked up hitch to hitch, I was in 4HI and when it caught the slack the 2 back tires came off the ground. It was hilarious.
Blown2Run,
Good to hear your enjoying your F-150! Course, i don't know about any "hills" within 90 miles of Mission
Seeing that you're a bowhunter in Texas, have you seen "Texasbowhunter.com"? If not, it's a great site and you should come on over to check it out! I'm "Sackett" on there too.
BTW, I towed my 30ft Bumper Pull Travel Trailer twice this summer and love having the power this truck provides!

The front end was air born on the top of every one of those whoops along with the back end a couple of times. I was amazed and didn't believe them until pretty much everyone confirmed it. The ride in the cab felt smooth other than being locked into my seat. My head wasn't bucking all over the place like other trucks (lighter trucks) I've drove. I love the new 2004-2005 F-150s!
Just thought I'd share!

..maybe you missed the part about it did all of this stuff before I ever got to break it in and I wasn't able to get it to the dealer sooner because I broke my back and was almost paralyzed.
Honestly, if you think that just because I drive it hard every now and than thats the cause of all my problems than Im with the wrong brand. Im sorry but I bought 4WD to use it and not be a little baby with my truck and I expect it to handle what I throw at it, and that isn't much.
