K & N FIPK Installed

Received and installed the K & N FIPK Kit P/N 57-2556 this weekend. The installation was easy, all the parts fit, sound level is medium when you are in the throttle, increase in 'butt dyno" was fantastic. Very nice horse power gains, and great throttle response. Well worth the money and wait to determine which one to purchase between Airaid, AF1, K&N, Volent, AEM, etc. I have driven around 200 mile since the install and have "beat the crap" out of the truck trying to find any problems, none have surfaced, no "CEL's".

Well, it's always easy to assume that one can't go wrong with K&N..

carpenter, You have great timing. I just bought the 57-2556 FIPK, but now have concerns that it will only fit a 2004 truck. My new truck is supposed to be delivered around Sep 12th, and cant confirm that the kit will work with an 05-06 truck. What year is your F150?

Mine is a 2004, I was told by K&N that this kit will fit the 2004 thru 2006, 5.4 3 valve motor.

I have the same one on my FX4 I put it on before I drove to flordia on my honeymoon. I have had no CEL's and the truck runs great. Better power and the sound is not bad at all.

Thanks, I was informed by someone else that it will only work on an 04. At least you have first hand knowledge that it will work on 2005-2006 ..

I looked at the installation instructions (good instructions) on the K&N website. It is interesting that the K&N kit relocates the throttle body to vertical and puts an adapter between the throttle body and the intake manifold. The other kits I've seen leave the throttle body alone and the tube curves down to meet it.

I was surprised also when I found this also during my installation. I have to admit the installation was very easy and had very well laid out instructions. It seem to have added a nice bit of Horsepower and torque also by doing this. I think it may have also helped in reduceing the WOT throttle level noise because it tends to point throttle body toward the front. Kind of makes it really look mean too, again I'm sorry I don't have a digital camera

All in all I'm very satisfied with the K&N system with respect to fit, finish, and the final end results. I would recommend it to anyone still sitting on the fence trying to decide which performance intake system to purchase or those who are unhappy with there previously purchased other manufacturers models.

Ive got around 2k miles with my K&N on my 05 FX4. I love it. Definetly seat dyno was bigger. I love the sound it makes when you plant it. Definetly worth more than what I paid for it. Since I got it off ebay for nothing to begin with. I would have paid 3 times as much!

I sent an e-mail to K&N asking if the 04 kit will work on an 05. They've never responded. I really want one of these.
