This is funny. I've kept my tailgate locked since I bought the truck because everyone at the stealership warned me they are very easy to remove and people have a habit of taking them because they backed their new truck into something and don't want to have to buy a replacement tailgate!

Im one of those paranoid people- its locked unless I am getting in and out of the bed and when Im at home, the truck is backed up against the garage so it cant be opened all the way. A couple years back, the main Chevy dealership had a bunch of tailgates stolen that were locked.
