Thumbs up BedRug and Tuff Tonneau

I'd like to thank all of you with your pics and opinions, I have decided that the Bedrug and tuff tonneau is a good combo for me right now.

Any tips on the install of either of these two that would save me some heartache?

I bought the Tuff Tonneau on Autoanything for about 199 shipped and the bedrug for 299 shipped from qualitybumper out of AZ.. I have heard of people getting them cheaper but with the funds on hand, they were burning a hole in my pocket...

I'll post some pic's when I get it all in.

Get a decent Torx bit set to take off the cargo hooks. Here's a link to my install thread:

edit: You might want to go ahead and buy tailgate weatherstripping too.

Thanks for the heads up with the torx bit. I'll have to get some. And thanks for the link.. did you find it hard to find where the tiedowns went after the bed rug was installed?

Thanks- good suggestionon this too. I didn't realize that the fabric went all the way to the tailgate covering the gap. I'll get some weatherstripping.. any good sites that you know of? (read: good prices) and thanks for the tips. I'll get my camera out when I install it and get some specifics of the bedrug going in..

I have some scratches in the bed paint now. is there a way to seal those before I drop in the bed rug or should I not worry about it?

Thanks guys.

Bedrug advice

Having put a Bedrug in both my 04 and 05 F150, I'd suggest getting some extra industrial strength velcro at the harware store. I'm kinda **** and wanted to be sure the Bedrug was secure. I'd heard of others running our of Velcro during the install, so I bought some just in case - good thing because I needed it.

Bought the industrial strength hook and loop fastener at HomeDepot for under $15. Install is easy just follow the directions took about two hours doing it by myself.

As a matter of fact, yes. In fact, I didn't put on of the velcro that holds the sides in place until I got the cargo hooks sorted. If you look really close you'll see where there are indentations in the back of the rug for the cargo hooks. I don't recall what I used to punch the holes, but I think I just used a smallish screwdriver.

One hint on installing the sides. Attach the velcro to back of the bedrug first. When you're sure of where you want the velcro to stick, pull of the adhesive backing and push it in place. That way the velcro will always line up with the strips sewn into the liner.
