SCAB Weight

I had my truck weighed today as I was dropping off a load of scrap metal.
EMPTY, empty weight (deduct fuel and driver) 5480 lbs.
5.4 XL 4X4, towing package, linex, Luverne running boards.

I hit the scale at the local dump, it was 6400 or something to that effect and I had only a hot water tank in the back that couldn't have been more than 50lbs. ( 30 gal tank, empty) maybe the scales at my place are wrong. Because that is quite a bit more than your weight. I have a Lariat, tow pkg. etc.. SCAB..

Yep, these trucks are very heavy!
Fully boxed ladder frame, super duty leaf springs, and
all american thick sheet metal. Not to mention the cast iron block,
and heavy rear axle. That FORD supercab probably weighs about as much
as a nissan/datsun crew cab 4x4. Those things have thin, flimsy sheet metal.

Hey SUNCOAST, don't you sell these things? Any official numbers on how much they weigh?

On the invoice for my truck, it lists the shipping weight at 5336. If you have the invoice, look at it,your weight should be on there.

Yep, curb weight is on the invoice.

When you start getting into weights, gvwr, etc,
You start with the dry weight of the truck, and every option
has a published weight as well. This is how we spec out
commercial trucks. That is a week long fourty hour
course in itself.
