engine dampner solves vibration?

truck is in the shop again for vibration---ford rep verified vibe and the dealer is putting on the 4th----4TH!!!! new set of tires on my truck that only has 12000 miles. plus the rep said to add an engine dampner to the engine near the crankcase? has anyone heard of this before, and for those who have this problem, do you think this is just another excuse???

Ford BS.

They tried to ask me if I switched the gas station I was using, they suggested that the gas I was using might be causing the vibration!?

Vibration Dampner, They have been handing them out like candy on the 05 Mustangs... I know this doesnt apply to our trucks (apples to oranges) but it did solve the vibration issues in our 05 Mustang. The vibe was bad, it made you feel uncomfortable like the car was coming apart. Vibration dampner installed, No problem.

It just took them 1 week to get the part, and another 2 days to install it.

depending on what type of vibration it is, many people have had it fixed by putting the dampers on. If it was total BS, they wouldn't waste the money to do this. Why would they waste the time and parts if they knew it absolutely wouldn't work?

big thing to remember is, not all vibes are the same cause...

Yeah, some of them have really bad vibe problems and rough idle's... Ours sounds like some of the trucks here... seems to have been one that has been in the shop quite a bit. but they have fixed just about everything, the radio, the fuel tank, the brakes, the vibe, the rough idle, the transmission "not catching" when shifting.. the list goes on. but all were caught and fixed by 5k miles it has only been in the shop 3 times once was for the gas tank 2 days after we got it, the next time for an early oil change (the first - didn't want to battle the filter) and the last was for the "works" 5k mile thing.

I had my truck in for vibe problem (not too bad, but it was vibe). They had dampner put on then was the drive shaft. The vibe is gone now. I also had rear end clunk, which was replaced (new weight fluid and new parts). It is all good now. At first, I was mad with having to deal with in/out service dept. but all in all I am happy. Hopefully some off these will be fixed with new model rolls off in 2008-2009.

Talking

From what I can see it looks like this is only a problem on the 2004 models.
Anyone with a 05 having this happen to them?

I wonder if some of these vibe problems are actually in the transmission itself? Slipping torque converter clutch? Something not balanced right? And the dampner on the rear of the engine may be absorbing the vibration from the tranny?!? Just a thought......

Im not sure because technically wouldn't the vibe stop when you put the truck in nuetral as you were driving? I've tried it with no luck..
