Personally, I like the lowered/leveled look, but still want the benefits of 4WD, if you suggest I should have bought a 4X2. In my opinion, I think if I raised the front with an autospring, my wheels/tires would look to small, in addition to the fact that I do not plan on increasing my current tire size. This is what works for me, but does not negate the fact that I like lifted big tire'd rigs as well! Thanks for asking.

I've been kicking around this idea as well. I haven't been able to make up my mind between removing the blocks or adding a leveling kit up front. It sounds like a fairly easy mod. I'd like to see how it turns out.

You have an FX4. It has the higher ground clearance for a reason. If you are going to take your rear blocks off, you shouldnt have spent the extra money on getting a 4x4. Thats just my opinion.

Perhaps I should have and probably would have been fine with a 4x2, since I have the Excursion, but it is what it is now and this is the direction I have chosen at this juncture. Not like I couldn't change it back! Cars/trucks/jeeps/motorcycles that I have had in the past had gone through many iterations until I decided what I really wanted out of them, looks and performancewise. To me, this is what makes it fun, trying and doing different things, unforturnately, at times, at the mercy of cash. I appreciate your opinion TX!.

My dealer told me when I bought my 04 that they could remove something from the rear end to make it lower. One guy had them do it to his (4x4 lariat Supercrew) and it sits level. It actually looks pretty good

FX4&EXCURSION, you have email.

I've let him know that my service tech at the dealership wasn't too keen on the idea as it might stretch the stock shocks too much and affect my setup. So, I'm wanting to talk to the local 4x4 shop before I make any changes. I'm up for a low cost mod, but not willing to buy new shocks, etc.

bill maier, you and FX4&EXCURSION are free and clear to make the deal, etc. If you do, document it completely with "how to's" and pictures.
