17,000 for an 04 5.4 supercrew, say what!
If fuel prices continue to climb, and they will, none of the bigger vehicles will be worth much. Look what happened in the 70's. You had your pick of Caddys and Lincolns cheap. I guess I'll just hang on to mine even if I have to park it.
Yeah I keep thinkin...Leather FX4 screw, but there's absolutely no way to come out ahead trading vehicles. The only way to make money trading vehicles is to have an old classic that Appreciates instead of DEppreciates in value.
It's kinda like my Dad says about casinos. They don't pay for them big fancy buildings giving away money.

I have(had) an 04 reg cab fx4 black that I just traded last week for a fx4 scab w/leather and center console everything else is the same. I traded it with 16500 on it and the dealer gave me 18500. I can live with that even though I know I ate all the depreciation. Some poor guy will come in to look at the 06s and not be able to afford one so I sure my old reg cab will be sold quick.
I traded in my 04 Z71 with 31,000 miles, and got $18,500 even with the $800 dollars worth of body damage. $18,500 was KBB trade in value on the Chevy without the body damage. Sticker on the chevy was $32,000 new, I bought it for $26,000 a year ago. I got $8,700 off of sticker on my FX4, sticker was $36,500. I'm pretty happy with my deal. My FX4 had been on the lot for 10 months, I guess nobody wanted a black Scab 133" wb, with black leather.

Testdrove a 2004 FX4 SuperCrew with 47500 km's a couple of weeks ago.
Canadian import.
They wanted 39,000 euros for it.
That's converted US$ 47,700 and $57,300 Canadian.
If you trade-in a 2004/2005 F150 truck, do dealers testdrive it, to see if it has any problems.
Yeah, trading in can sometimes be crummy, that is why I lease all my trucks.
The Family plan thing is bogus anyways my trucks msrp price 49,900 + 1200 in dealer installed options (mud flaps, command start, spray in liner). The leased out Capital cost was 43,270 (how much it would have cost me to buy) which is a savings of 7830. That was 2 months before the family plan thing. I ordered my truck.
I just figured out a 47,840 dollar vehicle (screw 4x4 lariat) on fords Canada website with the family plan and the family price is 40842 so a savings of 6998
My dealer showed me all these discounts I cannot even remember what they were, good customer discount, redhead discount, It's a sunny day discount, whatever...I don't see the Family discount being any different and that should not affect your trade-in, they are just using that as an excuse to give you less money for your trade-in.
The time of year when you buy your truck is what I thnk dirves a lot of the discounts, If you buy at the beginning of the model year you will not get as many. If you buy now you will get lots.
Let me see if I can figure out next months offer......Making room for the new 06's end of model year discount, no reasonable offer refused, all trucks must go! Save Big!
