Lowering FX4 in back, Heavy Payload ubolt?

Sup. I'm planning on lowering the back of my Scab, 133" wb, FX4. I wanna take out my 2" blocks. I'm looking at 2wd ubolts, they 2 different ones, regular and Heavy Payload. So...how do I know which ones to get? I'm thinking Heavy Payload, because I got the bigger axle. Any ideas?

Most likely Regular, the Heavy Payload mostly applies to the "7700" that has the 7-lug axle.

Heavy payload refers to the 1000.00 option that comes on the Supercab XL long wheelbase 5.4 only. Your truck does NOT have this option being an FX4.

I'm thinking about doing this myself. So all I would need is the regular payload 2WD U-Bolts??

Yep, think so. I did the same thing to the Z71 I had before this, I loved it on that truck. I'm thinking of doing air bags in the back after leveling, with the on board air. But I have an old Dodge diesel for the heavy stuff.

I lowered mine by installing the Ground Force 2" drop shackles. It wasn't too hard to do and the kit comes with the pinion angle shims in case you need them.

Where did you get your shackles from?

FX4&EXCURSION,

I got them from Summit Racing. They were around $96.00, I think. You may be able to find them for a little less somewhere else though. It is a high quality kit, the shackles are finished and painted, and it has the shims which I ended up needing to put in. I'm very happy with the results. Don't forget to grease the bushings and bearing surfaces of the shackles and spring mounts, otherwise they will squeak like crazy.

Sorry for all the questions, I see a part number of GRF-91200 at summit, is this the one you used? How much was your drop in the rear? Your truck looks nicely leveled in the back. Looks great.

FX4&EXCURSION,

Yes that is the right kit, part number GRF-91200. It was $91.64 delivered. They even included a nice Summit Racing hat. The drop is adjustable. The shackles have a hole for 1" or 2" drop. I went with the 2" drop on mine and with no load the rear sits 1" higher than the front.

Make sure you use plenty of grease like he said.. I though I used enough grease.. Wrong! Squeakes when I get in and out of the truck... Been too lazy to fix it.
