Skid Plates Revisted

Been reading and searcing for a photo of the front skidplate. I've seen them before on the other models, but how hard are they to install. Seems like all the mounting holes on my xlt are located in the frame rails or boxed in. Has anyone put these on before?

Ford charges $70 for those things?? Wow, Im sitting on a gold mine. The price just went up JRB!!! Just kidding. That last thread said they are thin as tin foil, but that is not true, the front plate I have in my garage is atleast 1/4" thick. It would be plenty to deflect limbs and rocks...

It took me all of 10 minutes to install that front plate, all you need is a 1/2" rachet

I ordered them (and clips, screws, bolts, etc) yesterday for my 05 KR...they arrived this morning. They are from Ford parts so I am assuming that install should be a relative breeze.

I didn't realize there was such a demand for these things, I've had one sitting in my garage collecting dust for two months. I think I have found it a home now. FYI, when a dealership does a lift on a truck (atleast my local dealership) they throw the front skid plate in the dumpster. It's good to know a tech

Hey ErnScott, how much were the bolts, clips, and screws run you for your king ranch. Just the price of the hardware.

(4) *W503942*S426 = screws $6.28
(4) *N801118*S436 = nuts w/clip $17.04

total $23.32 + tax or shipping
