Question '05 Lariat Windshield Air leak

Hi-

Has anyone else have the problem with a rushing air sound around the base or top of the windshield? My new '05 Lariat 4X4 SuperCab has air noise that increases with speed, and sounds like the base has a leak. I am certain it is from the windshield. My '04 did not make this noise. Anyone know of the TSB for this?
Thanks -

Dave Christo

Actually there is not much you can do besides reseal the window with Urethane Adhesive Essex 400-HV

Good luck, take it to the dealership

as long as its not a wind noise from the bottom of shield, it would be a bear to reseal on a dw1529

On my 2004 STX, I was driving around 80 mph one evening on a two lane road and hit a pretty big dip in the road (over a creek) and after the suspension bottomed out the windshield started leaking at the top above the rearview mirror. It had to be resealed at the dealership and the service writer acted as if it was fairly common.

I have noticed this as well on my O5 Lariat. I have no leaks so far!

My 05 Lariat screw has the same 'wind' sound coming from the front windshield, and quiets down when truck slows down. No water leaks, just make me open the moonroof or turn up the tunes !

Will mention to dealer at 15k mile service, but it has been doing this since new. I suscribe to infotraxx and have not seen a tsb for it yet, not enough of us complained yet!

I had the same problem with my 05 lariat supercrew. It sounded like whistling coming in from the front windshield. My dealer had it for about a week and a half and couldn't find it after resealing everything. He finally called Ford and was told to reseat the front grille and reseal the grill area. I don't know if that fixed it but it is not whistling anymore. He said Ford has acknowledged the problem in a few 05 F150's.

wow, come to think of it, the 'wind' noise started after I put the King Ranch trim package on it. ( arz beige colored grill , running boards, bed rail caps etc.. )
