Angry CEL light on with AF1-140 miles!!!

I put the Airforce One intake on Saturday night and Ithe CEL popped on today. Called Troyer and they told me to call AF1. Called them and and they told me that it was common and that it will go away with more driving time. The truck runs great, but I think it needs exhaust now-too much air coming in and not enough going out!!

Still I am a little disapointed that my truck has a CEL on with only 1900 miles-even if it will go away.

I have a 05 FX4 5.4L

Welcome to the AF1 CEL club! I got mine at 34 miles. Do you have the new design tube? I received my "redesigned" tube yesterday and installed it last night. No CEL yet. Time will tell. The newer design is much quieter than the original was on my truck. If your is the original design try to get the new one, it is not supposed to have the CEL problem.

EDIT: I had to reshape the MAF sensor opening on the "redesigned" tube too. That seems to be a rite of ownership, if you want one bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to make it work.

The new design is several inches longer and has a sharper bend in the tube. I think there were some pictures in another thread. Member jpdadeo posted in that thread. If I find the thread I will post the link.

Yikes. I'm glad I didn't order one of these and fought off the urge I had. Seems like a few people are having this issue. With my temper, I'm sure glad I haven't ordered one yet.

Another unhappy customer it seems. I wish you all the luck! Some people I think have had the issue go away after a while. Hopefully, your issue will as well. From what I've read Troyer has been pretty helpful with these.

Good luck!

I probably wouldn't have received my replacement tube if Troyer hadn't helped out by talking to AF1 for me. Don't knock Troyer's customer service until you've tried it.

I don't think he was knocking Troyers Customer Service but just pointing out that Troyer Performance Customer Service told him to speak with AF1 regarding his CEL problem instead of working through it themselves.

I'm wondering if there wasn't something more to it though, b/c as I've read a million times, Troyer has fixed absolutely everything. Couldn't blame the guy though if he got tired of dealing with AF1 CEL issues as they feel like roaches on this board.
