I upgraded my no-carpet STX to the Lariat model, and wouldn't go back, given the choice. I got the leather interior, 5.4L, etc.. and I am totally happy. Of course, I do WORK at the Ford dealer so it may be a little different for me.

Regards,

Chris

same truck , only difference carpet or no carpet? then screw the carpet. IMHO vinyl floor is an upgrade.

I picked up my red stx last week, with young kids I think the no carpets is nice.

The lack of carpet wouldn't bother me but no power windows or door locks and not having my 5.4 engine would kill me.

The real question is do you want the STX or do just want the deal. There are a lot of things to consider besides no down such as the payments and the term of the loan, price of the truck and even more important, is it the truck you want?

i agree with this, i would not buy a truck unless i am 100% sure that it's the one i want, this is a big decision, and good luck!

I agree with the previous posts -- the STX model is nice, but there are a lot of options you can't get on it that are available on the other models.

If all you're looking for is a utilitarian hauler for the rugrats, then the STX with the vinyl floor is probably fine. Then you can start saving your money so you can buy a more deluxe model once the rugrats have grown-up a little bit and won't be constantly trashing the nicer ride!

I was going to get an STX and even had one picked out. A Red reg cab styleside. But once I started looking at the truck it wasn't what I wanted. The No-carpeting wasn't going to bother me because if I really wanted it in the future, it's not that hard to add.

But no power locks, power windows and no 5.4l engine I didn't want to do and Ford's doing pretty good deals on these trucks. Looked a little more and found the truck I wanted in the XLT trim level and wouldn't go back.

If you're trading in, aren't you putting something down, unless you are upside down?

nope, no trade, it it the one i want because i have had an stx for the past 2 years and i love it!!!

you have to admit its much easier to clean with the kids tracking stuff in it constantly!!!!

i agree with the post about the armor all... man its nice when you get it all shined up!!

not upside down either, my lease was up...

and just wait a couple more years, we plan on getting a bit more for our money since the kids will not be as wild on the interior!!!

the best thing i did was to cover the seats for protection...

No money down doesn't make it a good deal. Nobody could say if it's a good deal unless they know what the final price is, payment, interest rate, if it's another lease what is the residual on the loan going to be, the length of the lease, miles alotted on the lease, price per mile if you go over your alotted milage...

Anyone with half decent credit can walk onto the sales lot and get a car/truck with no money down. Just dont get reamed else where in the deal.
