I am not going to answer this as I may sound biased as I have owned three Bedrugs. ( 3 different vehicles). But if I were to answer, I would tell you that someone that has owned more than one has never had an issue with water being trapped under theirs, but maybe its just because they had a tonneau cover on all 3 of their vehicles that were water tight...

What are the advantages over something like a spray in (i.e., Linex)? Won't there just get a lot of dirt trapped in the pyle? Stains etc? How do they handle water or is it like walking on outdoor carpet after a heavy rain?
I know many of you like them. Do some of you guys/gals NOT like them; Why?

I am grateful for any insight. I am looking at something for but I'm not sure which direction I want to go.

Thanks.
What is the draw?

Because some guys like pretty looking trucks.

If I was using my truck as a real work truck then I wouldn't use a Bed Rug. I'd then go with a spray on liner. For just week end projects and "Tailgating", the Bed Rug is great.

I just went out and looked at my Bed Rug and Marc, you're right . What I thought said not to put fuel containers in the bed actually just says to remove the container from the bed while filling to prevent a fire from static shock. I guess I should learn to read instead of just looking at the pictures. DOH! :o

Edited to eat crow.

I own a Bedrug in both of our trucks. My other F150 FX4 has an ARE camper shell and we use it for camping and boating. The marine grade carpet is great, I know people that have a Bedrug with no top. My wife sleeps in the truck on the Bedrug while camping. Very easy to install, but like others have said I use it mainly like a big trunk, mostly to hold my golf clubs and such. I have a truck mat I put on top of the Bedrug if I'm going to be carrying anything nasty.

What is the consensus if using a bed rug with no cover? I will be using it for light use, the occasional tailgate, camp out, hauling, etc, but dont necessarily want to get a cover. From your guys' experiences, will this hold up to the weather, or is this mainly to be used with a cover of some sort?

Does anyone know if bedrugs are available for pre '97 F-150's? I've looked at various sites and the oldest model seems to be '97 & up?

I have a Bedrug with no cover and I've had no problems. I have no intentions of buying a cover in the future. It hasn't faded and is very durable. I do light hauling, camping, etc... I've hauled mulch and just used the leaf blower to clean it out. I've hauled heavy objects and they didn't leave any impressions. I'm very happy with the Bedrug and get a lot of compliments on it. Good luck.

Yes, great feedback. Thanks a lot.

I am definitely interested in getting one, but was a bit worried about how it would hold up exposed to the elements all the time. Sounds like it would be worth it though.

I will definitely look into further this weekend. Thanks a lot.

Exactly what I was thinking.. I would have never considered them, thought they weren't strong enough..

Now I wonder..

I imagine that water could get trapped between the bed and the rug causing some issues there but I really dont' know that is why I am asking you.

Has anybody had an issues with rusting, like the drop in liners?

Also, I currently have the Ford drop in liner from the dealer. If I upgrade to the bedrug, is the factory one just junk, or can I ebay it or something?

my buddy just got a Line-x sprayed in after about 7 months and he used his truck in that time his bedliner was, well... Used.. and he sold it in the local paper for 150.

Good luck.

I think I maybe getting this bed run after and a extang tuff tonneau afterall.. but I am still thinking about it.. I can get both for 30 dollars more than just the line-x so that is a big plus.
