It looks a bit different now though. Got the blacked out XLT grill, and a tube style lower grill insert.

I installed some 2" DJM shackles I need shims to stop a vibe. Does anybody know what degree shims I need? DJM website says they sell 2, 4, and 6 degree shims and I don't know which ones I need.

Most of the ones I've heard about are 2.5 degrees. The Ground Force kit comes with the shims.

Just asking questions here, what's the difference with just removing the 2 inch blocks and swapping out the 4 wheel drive U-Bolts in the rear with 2 wheel drive U-Bolts as opposed to doing the shackle kit? Does one benefit over the other. Seems cheaper to purchase the U-Bolts you need and call it a day. Just trying to learn more about this!

on a 4wd all you have to do is take the blocks off, on the 2wds there are no blocks. but who knows what the U-bolts cost from the dealer, unless you get some universals.

Another option is there have been plenty of people with 2WDs upgrading to the 4WD blocks and U-Bolts, pick up their U-Bolts.

The Ford OEM 2WD U-Bolts, a set of 4, from Ford Parts Network, will run about 32 dollars. When the blocks are removed on the 4WD, there aren't enough threads on the 4WD U-Bolts to reinstall, hence the need for the 2WD pieces with the additional thread counts. Just trying to understand for the 4WD applications what the lowering shackles will provide you over the block removal/U-Bolt swap.

from a traction standpoint the 4wds should remove the blocks, esp if NEW ubolts are only $32 a set, thats a good deal. no messing with pinion angle (much). block removal is the way to go on 4wd

I'd just like to say your truck is gorgeous. If I get another F-150 its going to be just like yours or all black Lariat. Im not sure yet!

Thanks Bob!, and Thumper thanks for the awesome compliment! Man, that black is a labor of love, let me tell you. High maintenance, but to me well worth it! Black on black rocks. I've been following your threads about your truck issues, and want to wish you luck on whatever you do. Hopefully you will stay in the Ford family!
