Line-X hands down.

 

I've had both Rhino and Line-x in two different trucks. I had an 01 Silverado that I bought used; it had the Rhino already sprayed. My current truck has the Line-x. Line-x seems to hold it's color better and seems more durable. The Rhino was better in keeping a load from sliding around, it was more rubbery. One consideration is Line-x's nationwide warranty. With Rhino you are tied to your local dealer. Either's a good product but I'd say go Line-x. (But hey what do I know I drive a Chevy) Best of luck with whichever you choose.

My brother has a rhino liner in his 98 truck and it looks horrible. It is peeling in some areas and looks like it was sprayed thin, but could be that it has worn out. I had the Linex in my 02 truck and I thought it was very good. I now have an 05 and just have a rubber mat, but if I were to install another bedliner, it would be the bedrug.

I think the main benefit of the bedrug is that it can be removed and if it was installed while the truck was relatively new, then the bed would look brand new. The Linex can not be removed. If your bed is already scratched up, then by all means do the Linex. It will be the best prevention for rust if the bed already has scratches in it.

So in summary:

New truck bed: Bedrug
Old, scratched up bed: Line-x

 

I too have had both the Rhino and Line-X and I have to say the the Line-X is the BEST I have ever had. I'm tough on it hauling motorcycles and lots of gear ... Seems like I'm doing something EVERY weekend ... and it is holding up great and looks a lot newer than the Rhino over the last 9 months !!!

 

No problems with rhino. My cousin had it for years and used it for work everyday. Rocks, sand, concrete, WHOLE pallets of brick, you name it. He had no problems whatsoever. Had mine done earlier this year.

 

BedRug!!

 

Bedrug's are easy to stain, no? If you do not have a tonneau cover I am willing to bet you are SOL. I don't want no ugly stains on my bedrug, but I think they look the nicest and you can put elegant wood furniture among other things without worry.

 

Line-X is waaaaay better than Rhino Liner...Period.

 

i have a rhino no slippage for sure. Now best thing is buy what you use you truck for recreation ( LINE-X) for a work RHINO > If rhino peeled it was the installers fault not the product . I have beat my rhino in the last year and its holding great. When i was shopping they said all the colors will fade in the sun light . This is true to anything Plastic < Rubber you leave it out it fades .There are alot of sites online who have done extensive testing on all spray in liners. Look them up get a honest opinion of the best out there may not be rhino, or Line-X may be something else. Also i work at a Ford plant lots of trucks < lots of spray in liners there too ( 100s) . Opinions do very .

Because I have a Line-X and know other people who have it and we all love it...AND...I know a few people that have the Rhino Liner (one person actually has both in different trucks) and from what I've seen in terms of durability and fading, the Line-X wins hands down...hell, what do I care, people can spend their money on whatever they want.

 

I don't know anyone with Line-X. Probably due to the fact that there are ZERO dealers in all of NJ. My brother has Rhino and like I said earlier my cousin had it for years in his 1 ton dually and abused the hell out of it and it seemed to hold up just fine.

 

Not bashing you, so don't take this personal, but that is the attitude of most Rhino owners.

"I have Rhino, it is great!" Ever seen or had any experience with Line-X? "Uhhh...no. But my Rhino does the job, so it must be the best."

Again, this is just a generality and not you particularly.

Most of us who say Line-X is better is because we have had experiences with both, and Line-X is the best, hands down. Pasted from another post:

LINE-X and Rhino differ quite a bit. The biggest difference is that LINE-X contains polyurea and Rhino does not. Polyurea enhances the bedliner’s properties: 1. LINE-X's temperature tolerance is 250 degrees and Rhino's is 175. As the temperature of the bed approaches the temp tolerance, it loses its strength. 2. Polyurea keeps moisture out of the solution thus making a more dense and solid liner. Less moisture also means better adhesion. 3. Polyurea also makes for a tougher liner. The tear strength of LINE-X is 304 pounds per linear inch (pli). Rhino is 145 pli. 4. Polyurea sets up very fast, that's one reason why LINE-X goes on with heat and high pressure. LINE-X dries in about 4 seconds, so you get an even application throughout the bed. Rhino takes a minute or so to even gel, an hour or so to dry. Before it gels, gravity can pull the liner from the top ridges in to the low valleys. Rhino’s Tuff Stuff goes on cold/low pressure and thus has that “cottage cheese” or “rain on the windshield” look. LINE-X’s high heat/high pressure system gives it a very nice finished and more consistently applied texture, it’s sort of like an orange peel. The dealer can vary the texture from smooth to very rough. 5. Polyurea makes the liner more chemical resistant, especially to organic oils and solvents.

LINE-X offers a written nationwide lifetime warranty. Rhino’s warranty is only with the dealer that sprayed it.

The reason I always post in these threads is because I feel very strongly about the Line-X product and wish for as many of you to get it as possible. When a good product comes along, I am passionate about it and want to share my experience and knowledge with others.

Again, spend your money how you wish, but Line-X is the better product.

 

line x may have been considered if there was even ONE in NJ. Amazing that it's so good yet not even a single dealer here in NJ( the most densly populated state in the US) My Rhino job looks perfect, my cousins-perfect, my brothers-perfect.

You can give me all the figures you want.Seeing my cousins liner after a few years of HEAVY use is proof enough for me. When you use yours like he did his, I'll listen to all the scientific facts.

Bottom line ... What works, works.
