Best Option; Most Useless Option (Poll)
Best Option; Most Useless Option (Poll)
Answer four questions:
My answers:
1) The King Ranch leather. So comfortable and looks awesome.
2) Power folding mirrors. I didn't even know my truck was equipped with this feature until after I bought it. I use it all the time when I park the truck.
3) Towing package. I owned a Ford Ranger for 9 years and it had the towing package and I didn't tow anything. That probably won't change anytime soon. However, doesn't the towing package give you the tranny cooler? If so, then I might have to change my answer.
4) The moonroof. For now, it's just useless. In the summer it's too hot, in the winter it's too cold. Just don't see the use for a moonroof in a truck. A close second would probably be the Goodyear AT tires, which are probably no better than the BFGs that were the basic tire.
- What is the best/most useful option that you had to have?
- What is the best/most useful option that just came on your truck (but that you otherwise wouldn't have ordered)?
- What is the worst/most useless option that you had to have?

The most 'gimmicky' unused option on my truck is the power adjustable pedals. It might be different if anyone else used my truck. But even then, the usefullness of the pedal adjustment is negated by the lack of memory settings (one button to return everything to your personal settings). I would never order this feature.
The other worthless feature on any extended cab/ crew cab truck is a sliding rear window. I run my AC 8 months a year. And the few months I open the windows, the rear window stays closed. If I open it, the wind blows everything around the cab and it also sucks any sand or dirt out of the bed and shoots it into the cab. Very uncomfortable trying to drive with the back window open. It's also difficult to reach if I ever wanted to open it. My last 3 trucks had sliding rear windows and they are nothing but a liability because they are so easy to break into.

1. 4x4 (I have to have it for work)
2. Automatic temperature. "I just set-it and forget-it"
3. Moonroof and POWER sliding back glass.
4. pedal adjuster. I have literally never moved them (my wife has long legs so not a problem for her either - screw everyone else hahahha)

2. None.
3. 3.73s 3.55s would have been fine i think..
4.Tie. Factory radio and adjustable pedals
Most useful would be the backseat powerpoint. Just like a house... you can't have enough plugs.
Most useless is the lumbar suppport. Set and forget it.
Second most useless is the overhead rail. The compartments are way too small for how much space they take up.

2. 5.4 engine-Would have been to cheap to spend the money-best part of the truck.
3. None
4. CD/Cassette tape radio. Don't even know if the cassette player works.

1: tie between tow package and adjustable pedals. I think the pedals and seats would have been nicer with a memory function, but I had to have them. My wife is only 5' tall, so for her to be comfortable driving it, we needed the adjustment the pedals offer.
2: Also a tie between the 6disc player and the power sliding window. I had planned to swap out the head unit when I bought it but, I'll keep it now. The power slider is nice since I don't have to jump into the back seat to open or close it.

on't really have any useless options I "had" to have.
4:Plastic running boards, WTF is up with plastic running boards? I banged one on a rock and ruined it within 3 weeks! I'm gonna have to fab up a set of 2"x4" or 2"x6" square tubing nerf bars now.

Most useful option: 4x4 (I got the FX4 because I loved the console but don't want leather in a truck in Phoenix)
Most useful bonus: 18 inch wheels (I must be the only person that actually likes the FX4 wheels)
Must have junk: The power tailgate lock I added (I don't need this in the real world.)
Don't need junk: Rear window defogger
