Exclamation OEM bugshield on 05 crew

I wanted to see if anyone out there had purchased an OEM bugshield that has the F-150 emblem on it? If so, are you having any problems with the way it mounts? Mine squeaks bad enough that you can hear it in the cab while driving. I was kind of leary of the way this thing mounted when I looked at the instructions and almost sent it back, but I figured that it must be okay since it is an OEM product. I know there are not a lot of mounting options considering the way the hood is designed on the 05 trucks, but do any of the other brands of bugshields fit a different way than having a metal clamp that slides onto the hood on each side and that is it as far as holding it in place? Any help or advice is appreciated.

I have one, ( though it's an '04 ) and I was warned by a friend who had the same problem your talking about ( squeak ) BUT after looking at it while installing I decided to use some washers on the bolts to shim out the space where the guard isn't.
( some people put them on too tight and you can see the flex where the bolts are on the grille surround ) I've got an excellent fit, no noises, no anything, real nice I like it...

I had the same problem, I was hearing a cracking sound that sounded like it was comming from the dashboard at aroud 45-50 mph. I pulled the bugshield off, and guess what the noise was gone. It has been sitting in my garage ever since.

When I bought mine a month ago, the dealership had installed a bug guard, but it wasn't the Ford one. They had installed a Lund (low-profile, I think). I haven't heard any noise from mine. Don't know who makes the F-150 bug guard, but I would guess that it's either Lund or Autoventshade.

Maybe I lucked out, but the low profile F150 guard on my 04 does not make a sound.
