Transmission Slipping?

My 05 Lariat has about 2600 miles on it. Today while doing a lot of stop and go driving (looking at houses) I went to take off from a light, normal acceleration, and the truck started to go but then acted like it shifted into neutral for a second or two. I let off the gas and it was fine, but did the same thing like 10 seconds later.

This is the only two times it has done it, and I drove another 40 miles today after that with no problems....

Is this the transmission slipping or what? Has anyone had this problem and if so, what did you do to fix it?

I did a search under 'transmission' but really didn't find what I was looking for....

I am having a similar problem too. sometimes, infrequently, when the truck shifts from 1st to second, there is a slip and then a bang when the gear engages.

i have 5,000 miles and it has been doing it for a while.

gonna mention it to the dealer when I take it in for other reasons.

I had a very similar issue....after 2k miles they replaced my torque converter and some sort of harness for the transmission.

i had this problem since about 8K. i just now rolled over 52K and its still there, from time to time. at around 25mph. when it shifts from first to 2nd maybe 2nd to thrid, its so sporatic, that i gotta catch it once every 10K shifts ya know. but i had the dealer look at it 4 times, they said they never found anything. they did say over the phone once that they would cover something like that up to 75K. but that was over the phone, and i was on the road when he said that, so thats about as far as it goes. i hope they can help me out, but other than that no problems whatsoever with this truck as of 52K, and ive used it for what its designed for some times, well most of the time a lil more. and keeps on comin back drives just like the day i took delivery.

Mine does the EXACT same thing. Dealer cannot reproduce it though. And in their defense although it always does it for me, we went on a 10 minute drive together and it didn't do it.

Just be sure to take it in with the complaint and get a written record. That way, you have evidence that the problem was present while it was under warranty if you have a problem later.

Ive had the same problem. The wierd thing is that it really only does it when Im turning right. Took it to the dealer, couldnt reproduce it. I took them on a test drive did 3 right and turns and it did it for them. The service manager was like "oh, thats wierd." Im like no **** your telling me. Anyway they updated the pcm (early 05 truck) and it hasnt done it since then. If you have an 05 you might want to have them try that (update comes with other advantages also.)
